ABC is presenting its new sitcom The Mayor starring Brandon Micheal Hall (Search Party). The Juilliard School alumnus plays Courtney Rose, a struggling Hip Hop artist turned novice politician.

Premiering on October 3 at 9:30 pm ET, the “Pilot” episode follows the main character as he devises a plan to gain publicity to promote his rap career. The people of Fort Grey, California end up surprising Courtney by causing an unexpected outcome.

The Mayor also features Lea Michele (Glee, Scream Queens) and Yvette Nicole Brown (Community, The Odd Couple). Tony Award winner Daveed Diggs (Hamilton) is credited as an executive producer along with Jeremy Bronson (The Mindy Project), Jamie Tarses (Happy Endings), and James Griffiths (Black-ish).
