TRL is teaming with the Get Schooled organization to give away $20,000 in scholarship money. More than 2,500 young people between the ages of 14 and 24 wrote essays and submitted applications for a chance to win a portion of the $100,000.
Michelle Obama helped the MTV show launch “Tuition Request Live” week. The former First Lady presented a video message that offered information about the government’s FAFSA program.
In addition, TRL host DC Young Fly interviewed the first scholarship winner Sydney Has No Horses. The high school student penned an essay about overcoming being bullied about her unique last name.
