19-year-old singer-songwriter Ali Brustofski is one of the new age performers that rose to internet stardom from self-produced cover videos on YouTube. After winning New York City radio station Z100’s Hometown Hero Contest and appearing on The CW Network’s talent competition show The Next, Ali is now ready to take her brand of feel good Pop to the next level.

Next week, the Oakland, New Jersey native will release her debut EP of original music. Dream Big!, a 6-track project that was funded by Ali’s devoted supporters through a RocketHub campaign, is sure to further expand her fanbase. DZI: The Voice asked Ali to share her thoughts on her latest work in our “Track Down” series. Read more about three songs from the upcoming Dream Big! EP in Ali’s own words.

“Goodbye To The Rain”

Ali Brustofski:

For this song, I wanted to write about overcoming the hard times in life, and not letting people bring you down. Everyone’s going to have “haters” – no matter what you do or where you go, but that doesn’t mean you have to let them get the best of you. You can be stronger than them and ignore what they say.

“Forever Young”

Ali Brustofski:

I really wanted a song on my EP that would just make people feel good. This song’s definitely a feel-good song you can sing along to in the car with your friends.

“Green Light”

Ali Brustofski:

“Green Light” is about that first time you see someone and get that feeling that you want to know them better.
