Description: The jazz vocalist dropped her first album over 8 years ago, but she started to attract serious notice in the industry in 2010. That may have a lot to do with her opening gig on Norah Jones’ “The Fall Tour” as well as her Burn EP released that year. The New York City-based guitarist is currently working on her next album entitled Aquarius that will be a rumination on acceptance, forgiveness, and lost love.

Savages

Description: Who says Punk Rock is dead? This all girl band made up of Jehnny Beth, Gemma Thompson, Ayse Hassan, and Fay Milton are keeping the musical spirit of the Ramones, the Sex Pistols, and The Clash alive. The Brits only formally united in 2011, but after a year of touring and the release of their “Husbands” single, they have NME, The Guardian, Pitchfork, and the BBC singing their praises.

Description: As an artist on Chris Brown’s CBE label, the former TG4 and RichGirl member is working along side one of the most successful R&B performers over the last decade. The fact that the 26-year-old has also written songs for Brown, Alicia Keys, Kelly Rowland, Trey Songz, and Estelle shows that she knows how to craft a hit. Her own single “I Like It” is already approaching 2 million hits on YouTube after only 2 months.

Their debut self-titled album is filled with lighthearted tunes that are perfect soundtracks for the sunny season. It’s not hard to imagine yourself laid out on a beach enjoying the weather, a good drink, and a summer love when you listen to the catchy single “Jamaica”.

Wynter Gordon

Description: This South Jamaica, Queens beauty started her career as a songwriter whose credits include Mary J. Blige’s “Gonna Breakthrough”, Danity Kane’s “2 of You”, and Jennifer Lopez’s “(What Is) Love?”. The LaGuardia High School (aka The “Fame” School”) graduate later started releasing her own music. Her signature song, “Dirty Talk”, topped the Billboard dance chart and was certified triple platinum.
